Vegan falafel skewers for the BBQ 

Ingredients for 20 falafel balls 

  • 1 can of chickpeas (14 oz) 
  • 2,5 oz flour 
  • 2 cloves of garlic 
  • 2 spring onions 
  • 1 onion 
  • 2 tsp baking powder 
  • 2 tsp cumin powder 
  • Salt and pepper 

Ingredients for 10 skewers

  • 20 homemade falafel balls 
  • 10 cherry tomatoes 
  • 1 eggplant 
  • 1 red bell pepper 
  • 1 yellow bell pepper 
  • 1 red onion 


It is important to remember that before using the chickpeas, you need to soak them for 24 hours, so it’s important to start on time. First, place all the ingredients for the falafel balls in a bowl and mix them together using a food processor until well combined. Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Afterward, remove it from the refrigerator and shape it into 20 balls. Meanwhile, cut the eggplant, onion, and bell peppers into pieces. Thread 2 falafel balls, a cherry tomato, two pieces of bell pepper, a piece of eggplant, and a piece of onion onto each skewer. Now, it’s time to grill the skewers on the BBQ for approximately 5-10 minutes until they are cooked through. Enjoy your meal!
