Apple cake 

Ingredients for 1 cake: 

  • 7 oz butter 
  • 6 oz sugar 
  • 0,3 oz vanilla sugar 
  • 4 eggs 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 7 oz self-rising flour 
  • 2 apples 
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch 
  • Optional: raisins 


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Mix them well together, then add the eggs. Mix again until a smooth mixture forms. In a separate bowl, combine the self-rising flour and salt. Stir to mix. Gradually add this dry mixture to the batter while stirring. 

If desired, peel the apples, although it’s not necessary. Cut the apples into pieces and toss them with the cornstarch in a bowl. Then add the apples to the batter. Prepare a cake pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper. Bake the cake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven until cooked through. Once the cake is done, let it cool slightly before serving.
