How to satisfy your hunger

A growling stomach, a constant craving for snacks—sometimes, losing weight can be challenging because you feel like you always have to endure hunger. This is not true; you just need to eat the right foods that keep you feeling full and avoid indulging in crisps or cookies in the evening, as it makes it difficult to lose weight. But how do you go about it?

Eat enough

It sounds logical, but it can be challenging. You can eat plenty of vegetables with low calories that can make you feel full. Additionally, getting enough fibre, carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, all of which contribute to a satiated feeling, is crucial. A lack of energy can also make you feel hungry because you simply don’t have enough energy to engage in activities.

Reduce fast carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are an essential nutrient, and there’s nothing wrong with them per se. However, it’s important to pay attention to the type of carbohydrates you consume. Fast carbohydrates are quick sugars that, as the name suggests, disappear rapidly. This is true for white products like white pasta, rice, and bread. Try replacing these items with whole grain products to increase fibre intake and consume slow carbohydrates. Opting for whole-grain products also adds more fibre. The fibres expand in your stomach, reducing the likelihood of getting hungry again quickly.

Eat at regular times

When your body knows when it will receive food, you’re less likely to experience a growling stomach. Your body will be less inclined to need a snack or crave something between meals. Additionally, this is beneficial for metabolism.

Choose a healthy snack

When you can’t resist and genuinely need something to eat, go for something healthy. Examples of a healthy snack include a bowl of yoghurt, fruit, or a tasty vegetable. You can make it interesting by, for instance, eating your banana with a bit of peanut butter or enjoying your carrots with a touch of hummus. Delicious and nutritious!
