Things you should never do with wet hair
You’ve probably done at least one of these after washing your hair post-shower. Here’s why you should avoid these common mistakes.
1. Tying It up in a tight ponytail or bun
It might feel convenient to immediately tie up your wet hair, but wet hair is fragile and prone to breakage when pulled tightly. Avoid this habit to keep your hair healthy.
2. Using a rough towel
Rubbing your wet hair with a towel right after stepping out of the shower is a bad idea. This can damage your scalp and lead to dull, lifeless hair. Instead, gently pat your hair dry.
3. Sleeping with wet hair
We’ve all done it at some point, only to wake up with a bad hair day. Tossing and turning during the night can result in tangled, messy hair that’s hard to style the next day. Sleeping with wet hair can also cause knots, which damage your hair.
4. Blow-Drying Immediately
We understand the desire to style your hair right away, but it’s best not to blow-dry while it’s still dripping wet. Let your hair air-dry a bit first, and when it’s slightly damp, you can start blow-drying.
5. Brushing Wet Hair
Wet hair is more prone to tangling and breakage if you brush it right away. To avoid this, detangle your hair before washing, or brush it while your conditioner is absorbing. Let your hair dry a bit before brushing or combing it.
