Start your day with these stretching exercises

What do you do first thing when you wake up? Do you immediately check your phone or head straight to the bathroom? It’s quite common, as many people have these routines upon waking. However, it’s better to stretch your body right away to get it moving. We’ve compiled a list of stretching exercises that are best for you.
Shoulder roll
Stand upright with your feet slightly apart. Keep your shoulders relaxed and your arms hanging alongside your body. Slowly raise your shoulders towards your ears and then make a circular motion. Repeat this several times, and you can occasionally switch sides.
Forward bend
Stand upright with your feet slightly apart, and let your arms hang relaxed alongside your body. Then, make a slight bend in your knees and slowly lean forward, letting your head hang. Return to your starting position and repeat this several times.
Full body stretch
Stand upright with your feet slightly apart. Keep your shoulders relaxed, and let your arms hang alongside your body. Bring both arms up in a circular motion and clasp your hands together. Bend slightly backward and look towards the ceiling.
Child’s pose
Sit on your knees and bend forward completely, with your forehead on the mat and your arms stretched out in front of you on the ground. Try to relax your entire body and hold this position for a moment.
