How to massage your feet

Your feet endure a lot every day, so they deserve a relaxing moment from time to time. But how can you give your feet the best massage? With this step-by-step plan, you can give your feet a wonderfully relaxed feeling within 15 minutes.

Step-by-step guide

1. Warm towel preparation

Warm a towel on the heater so that you can dry your feet with a warm towel.

2. Foot soak

Place your feet in a comfortably warm bath. Let your feet soak for about 10 minutes. If you like, you can add some oil for an extra calming experience.

3. Dry and wrap

Remove your feet from the warm bath and dry them. Then, wrap one of the feet in the warm towel.

4. Apply lotion or massage oil

Ensure your hands are warm so that they don’t feel too cold on your feet. Use a bit of lotion or massage oil and apply it over the foot.

5. Gentle stroking

Slowly stroke over the foot from the ankle to the toes and make circular motions.

6. Toe movement

Place your foot down and gently push your toes upward and downward.

7. Pressure application

Begin applying pressure from the toes to the ankle, gradually increasing pressure.

8. Circular movements

Repeat circular movements back to the toes.

9. Individual toe massage

Move on to the pinky toe and gently massage and stretch it. Continue this process for the other toes.

10. Inter-toe massage

Don’t forget to massage between the toes.

11. Bottom of the foot

Use a tennis ball for the bottom of the foot, applying gentle pressure.

12. Put on socks

Put on a comfortable sock and move on to the other foot.

A foot massage is beneficial because there are various pressure points on your foot. Applying pressure to these points can alleviate certain blockages, allowing energy to flow freely. This has a positive effect on both your physical and mental health.
